Not Australia spec brakes, unless you want to use massive wheel spacers

The Chevy Traker is the same as the Grand Vitara, and it has a 15" wheel set up, but the control arms are different, so you cant adapt it to the GV...I 've tried that too.
I even went to some wheel manufacturers to have some custom 15" wheels mad, and still came up with nothing.
So If anyone out there can find some custom wheels, or a setup that works on 15", let me know cause I want in.

Thats what I did
Wanted 31's with 16" rims. Changed my mind and started looking at 18's, but ended up with 33's on 20" rims

That was the whole idea, plus, there is a much bigger tyre range of 15" than there is in the 16".
I wanted to go a 15"x32" or a 15"x31" but I ended up with 16"x31" but doing that I not only lost choise but I also lost tyre choice.

can you run a mega offset 15" rim to clear the disc? or would it have to be a 15x7 with a 15" offset? lol

We bolted my 15x10 -50 rims with 32" tyre to his GV and it still grabbed the caliper. And it was WAY out!! of the guards.
As far as tyre choice goes, you can get almost anything in a 16" thats sold in a 15". Most factory 4bys come out with 16/17/18's now. Its been this way for a while.
In a few years time we may even have a full selection of aggressive mud tyres to suit 20's like the US does.
Shit in the US you can get KL71's to suit 24" rims!!!
Just out of interest, what tyres were you hoping to get?

That might depend on which year Tracker you're looking at.
Post 99 Trackers use a different, smaller brake assembly, as does the SQ416 Grand Vitara, and unless I'm very much mistaken, that is the only reason why a 15" rim can be used on those vehicles, but not the SQ420 & SQ625 GVs.

So given this iformation, why the hell would you fit smaller brakes just to fit a 15" wheel?

Personally I don't think I would - however, from what I'm told if you use 15" rims you have a wider range of tire choices for off-road tires.
Here's something to consider ...
What does Chevrolet know that you and I don't - why did they choose to use a smaller brake assembly on the V6, 5 door Trackers than Suzuki used on the same version of the Grand Vitara.
Also - I've not hear complaints of the Tracker brakes being inadequate.
Are the Tracker brakes undersized for the task?
Are the Grand Vitara brakes oversized?
