Through the B pillar then down drivers side. ( I think it's drivers side)

Yep, drivers side. Can get to it through the speaker hole and should be some spade/bullet connectors there for the wire also, or might be at the base of the bar where it meets the body. can't remember exactly. They may be corroded.

anyone ever pulled the door switch out? does the rubber boot just pull off or is there a trick to it? its certainly going to just be corrosion.

i just did this on my vitara.
just get a screw driver in there and it pops out.

I cleaned the contacts and chucked it back in. works like a dream 8)

yeah after asking i went out and took off the door strap so i could swing the door open to get to it, just grabbed the rubber boot and pulled on it and the whole switch came out... its just a grub screw that contacts a metal housing earthing onto the body... used the screwdriver to rub the dirt off the body and cleaned corrosion off the screws contact, bent the contacts open some more so they press into the body harder, hit it with some inox to stop more corrosion and its working beautifully!

lol, that only took about 5 years to fix =P hahaha

i didn't even know they had a door switch i thought they were so spartan they didn't need it lol, and the roof light was some generic one with 3 modes, i guess it's cause it was hidden behind those straps,

something new to fix :)

also i tried to squash that bug too >.<

we have light!!!!

ok mine turned out to be a corroded/broken wire behind the panel along the floor. and it only took me 4 hours to fix :(

basically when the car had been resprayed they did a SHIT job.. and the wire had some how got stuffed up.. so i had to pull off,
hard top,
targa bar,
front speaker
and every thing elce in the way.. but meh got it now!
the only thing i have to do is run some twin core down there, as i only had single strand wire i only have power so not the earth circuit though the doors! i wont have to pull anything apart for that tho :)

but atleast now i have light!
