Hey all,

Wondering if anyone out there has upgraded their alternator in their 1.3l zook, and if so, what to? Also, info on which belt was required would be helpful. Cheers!

Not sure if anyone could answer this but i have a toyota 5k engine and wanting to also upgrade my alternator.

I've quizzed a random corolla guy and he thinks that 110 amp is way too much for a 5k and will struggle to turn it? Also said to stick with a 80 amp upgrade.

My question is will an 80 amp upgrade be good enough for a zook? i'm planning on running a Winch and some Fog Lights in the very distant future and wanting to upgrade my battery to an optima D34 asap.

I currently have a 30-40 amp alternator and driving at night is a nightmare if i listen to music - it flickers when i have my indicators on.

Thanks

If a G13 can turn a 110 amp alt then I'm sure a 5k will manage too...

Of course, the simple answer it to put a proper engine in your zook ;) ;)

My Zook has a 4k Corolla, had some weedly little alternator on it.. Not enough for 2 hibeams and 4 roof spotties :D
Recently put another much bigger Toyota alternator onto it (Hilux i think it was? Idk it was in the shed so i went HELLS YEAH)
And it's brilliant, the 4K spins it like theres no tomorrow.. And nooo charging issues now

Don't knock the Toyota K motors, they're got brilliant low end power

My alternator is tiny as!

Are you able to confirm if it is a Hilux alternator? any pics? or at least a model number please?

So 80 amp won't do the job i want it to?

To Jccck - i've had two corolla's before this and wanted a bit of a change and i end up getting a zook with a rolla engine in there! cant get away from them

Thanks again.
