This is for a Front set up in a Sierra

So you can use a Rear Airlocker with the 26spline airlocker supplyed side gears with cromos.

BUT!

Can you use a Front Airlocker and put either Sierra or Airlocker side gears into it and run cromos???

you can put rear air locker in front which has the 26 spline side gears and use cromos
you can use a front air locker but have to change the side gears to 26 spline side gears from a air locker

hope that helps

Yes you can convert a front airlocker to 26 spline using parts from a rear airlocker, but my understanding is this is now prohibitively expensive. You used to be able to just buy the side gears ($100 or so), but apparently they now come as part of a set of parts that includes lots of thing you don't need.

Joeblow might be able to provide more information.

Steve.

PS You can't use sierra side gears.

DOH!

So that means a Airlocker (Front or Rear) is not compatable with Sierra Side gears at all!

thats right, who needs matched gears, hell, i might even start using ring and pinions from different batches!

everything in the kit you will need and should use, or just buy an rd88 to start with.

i'm tipping genuine suzuki side gear sets are waaaay expensive.

So you've never just replaced the side gears before Joe?

I'm not arguing either way, only that the side gears used to be available separately, now they aren't, and that makes the swap less viable.
