G'day I have recently noticed a substantial amount of oil in my radiator and overflow, not sure if this is a head or gasket? there doesnt seem to be any water in the engine oil though? Only inspecting via dipstick. If so are the standard 1.3 worth repairing or should I consider engine swap, I'm new to zooks but seems 1.6 vitara motor is a good swap. Suprisingly the zook still runs fine and maintains its oil level. Any help would be appreciated. |

There are 3 major symptoms of a blown head gasket. 1, Oil in water. 2, Water in oil. 3, Bubbles in coolant at filler cap. Any one of the three could mean the gasket/head is U/S. 1.3's are a good engine if slightly underpowered.. If you are happy with the 1.3's output then rebuild/replace it... 1.6 MPFI is a GOOD swap.. More power... More torque... Same or better economy. |

Thanks mate, are there any 1.3 to 1.6 conversions possible without engine mount mods or gearbox mods? |
