hi guys i have been thinking about making a rear bar with tow points and towbar, but i have been told that its illegal without an engineers certificate. does anyone know much about this?

If its made by a qualified welder and attatches to the chassis in a similar method to the original bar/ towbar, then you should be fine. The towbar itself will need a compliance plate/ rating tag. This should cost you less than $100 I would imagine.
