Same here.. and over the last couple of years i've replaced/rebuilt the transfer case, gearbox, engine, clutch and both diffs.. and it still does it!! hehe, bugga it

When my car is out of gear, and I start the engine, it tries to go forward, foot on the clutch, no problem, foot off the clutch, she tries to move and I loose around 200 rpm, also if i do the same with the transfer case in neutral, foot on clutch and off clutch, I loose around 50 rpm. What the hell is this. |

clutch and gears are out of line?? thus coudl cause the car to move as it still feels the car is in gear? *with the transfere case* no idea? are you starting the car on a hill??? |

If the clutch is not fully disengaging it would make for hard gear changes, but when its out of gear, in neutral, it should make no matter, half engaged or whatever. The whole thing has me tricked, why on earth when the transfer case is in neutral, twix hi an low does it still do this, loose revs when clutch is out, in my mind, neutral is just that, no engagement, so no power lose. Wouldn't the clutch be either in line, and able to be used, or out, and of no use ? |

Ahh so its not just me, lol cool. Would still like to understand why but. Everytime I come up with an idea as to why, I pull it apart and end up disliking that idea, and at the mo, am still in the dark. When warm, there is less rev drop, and less trying to move forward. |

When you engage the clutch in neutral, some power is still used to turn the clutch plate and input shaft, so there is a slight drop in revs... |

Someone said is was the fluid circulating in the gearbox, causing the output shaft to want to turn too. |

Ok, so internals of the box spin when in neutral, sounds feasible. Now I think of it, suziblu does this as well, but as she lives outside and on a slight incline, I don't feel it, the new one has to live in the shed as there is no back window, so rain is baaaad news for her, an on the flat concretet of the shed, ever so noticeable. Suziblu is only noticeable in the same place, she doesn't go into the shed often, so forgot all about her. |

Have you's noticed it happens more when the box is cold and the oil is thicker? as ther box heats up the the oil changes to a lower viscosity, less energy is transmitted to the output shaft while in neutral which results in less power gettting to the ground. Its nothing to worry about in my opinion and the only way to fix it is to switch to a lighter oil which gives you less protection, not worth it. |

I have put redline all thru suziblu, very light oil, that could be part of the reason why its not nearly so noticeable. |

What the hell is this. It is the immense awesomeness of the g series engine. Just by shear will power will it make the car move. It is just trying to unleash the FURY!!!!!!!!!!! The g series engines are the Chuck Norris of engines. Be impressed and glow in its awesomemess and be thankful you never bought a nissan. |

Mate, mine seriously wants to move forward, and as I said in me first post, the diff twix in neutral with clutch in, and out, is 200rpm, that is quite a bit of drain hey. Why is yours different, let us know the secret. Please. |

When mine is at work (asphalt carpark, slight drainage angle) it will drive through the handbrake to move. My handbrake is rooted though. |

Ditto, mine does the same. I put it down to oil in the gearbox and then forgot about it and ignored it every time it happened after that. |
