Here they are side by side.The 5 sp from the 88 1.3 soft top and the 4 sp from 84 1.0 lwb.The overall length looks very close.



The gear shifter positions are a little different,no big issue.The gear box x member mount on the 4sp looks like if inverted might mount on the 5sp mount backwards.Or i will have to make something up.



How much of this vacuum crap is needed on the older zook?I am also tempted to change the carb and manifold to an 84 model.

is that 5 speed from a 1 litre maruti? you say 88 1.3 softtop, if this is the case that box wont bolt up to the 1 litre engine. or are you doing an engine swap aswell.
carby/manifold from 1 litre to 1.3 litre are not interchangable

Yeah wharf, you need to just follow on with your original posts mate instead of making a new one each time, I think this is the 3rd post related to the first one that everyone has forgotten about.

I think I remember but so for those that dont, wharf has a 1 litre LWB with a dead donk and is doing a 1300 5 speed conversion to it.

i have an 82 model sierra, now with a GTi engine and 5 speed. made a new gearbox mount for it, cos i had the old 4 speed and 1 litre. lemme know if you want an idea for the gearbox bracket. cheers

i say all the vacuum crap can go and get a weber carby that made my old 1.3 vitara go like a dream.
