hey guys i just bought a front tailshaft for my car seeing as it never had 1... bout to go 4x4ing ... was just wondering, my 4wd gear knob has no patterns saying where 4hi and 4 low are ..... would you be able to tell me where the gears are on the knob?

what type of 4wd is it, Sierra, Vitara, Range Rover, Poocruiser?

its a 1985 suzuki sierra hard top. 1.3 litre with 5 speed

Was it an ex-hire car ? There famous for removing the front tailshaft so you don't go off road in there hire cars (common on the gold coast)

Pull back for 4H, then back further, across to the right and all the way forward for 4L

The shift pattern is a "U" shape.

Top left is 2wd
move down to get 4wd (high)

then move across towards the driver, so you can move the shifter up and down the right hand vertical of the "U".

bottom is 4H, then up one position to Neutral, then top right is 4wd low range.



oh by top I mean closest to dash board :wink:
