are vitara and sierra centres compatable? i have a vitara available for parts and wondered if i could swap centres? |

crown and pinions into sierra centres are a very common swap for lower gearing. but again only the front one is any use for this |

depends on the model of vitara. most are 5.1:1 ratios for a vitara i believe 4.3 4.6 4.8 5.1 sierra you can get 3.7 3.9 4.1 aftermarket you can get 5.3 |

5.1 usually apparently you need to do some creative engineering to stop the pins that go into the spider gears from sliding out and breaking stuff. like hammer time or tack weld them in place. |

this is from what i know so it may not be 100% 4.3s came in GV 4.6 came in vitara 1.6 carby 3 spd autos 4.8 came in 2.0 v6 vits 3.7 in the wide track 1.3 3.9 in the narrow track 1.3 4.1 came in the jimny i think but also the wide track maruti 5.1 came in all vits not covered above |
