Post subject:  33s on nt

hey all,

i have a 89 sierra ute and i am planning on running 33in silverstone extremes.
i have searched but havent found what im looking for.

I was wanting to know if this combo would fit on the nt, and is it worth going wt diffs or can i get away with just a bigger offset. I will have a 2in body and 2in suspension lift and am getting a building a custom tray built so clearance should be fine to the rear guards but what about the front guards and chassis? what off set would be required?

This is pretty much the same setup that I will be running in a few months.

I recommend going to the WT diffs. You will get much better articulation, and extra width. This will allow you to fit a wheel with less offset, which will be nicer on your bearings.

Your front gaurds will need some fairly heavy cutting to clear 33's.

I am running 2" lift, RUF and no body lift, so to fit 33's Image I have to cut a few inches of my gaurds. Its a big job, but well worth it if you ask me. Also remember that your CV's will not liek 33's for too long, so invest in some chromo's from the states.

Sounds like a nice truck, make with the pics :D

What Fat Said! Go with the WT Diffs! Mine is a NT SJ410 now with WT Diffs -25 offset 15x8 rims with 33" Silverstone Extremes I have a 2" BL and 40mm OME Springs I have massaged the firewall a fair bit but when it's flexed up on full lock it still touches so I will be cutting front end off the sill on an angle, as well as moving the front diff forward about 10-20mm and spacing the shock back but trying to keep in mind that the tyre starts to get closer to the Headlight bucket the further you move it forward!
Hope this helps?

Check out my Frog build down the bottom of this post may help to?

Robb.

move your diff forward 25mm.

91WT.
I run 33's x 12.5's. -28 15x8 rims, Prob estimate 1" sus lift, 2" BL. And hammering! I just touch the springs at full lock. Would be better with NT spring spacing.

i run 32 simexs which measure almost 33,

ruf, front diff forward 50 mm back diff back 30mm

2" body lift. 2" bumpstops. i only get scrubbing on the springs at full lock.

im about to start my virtual lift and hopefully take out a little bumpstop and shorten my shackels
