yeah sorry stupid memory card in the cam was playing up.. i think this side is fine its the other side closer to rocker cover
bottom left goes to the dizzy and the one above that goes to the charcoal canister and far right goes to some diagphram above the alt??
whats this plug for? :S the old owner went through and ripped all the connections off and half of them are just bare wires now...

ok the top 2 are pretty much right , except swap the charcoal canister and dizzy vacuum lines around that plug is for the anti dieseling solenoid and dash pot , i will try and explain ... the anti dieseling solenoid cuts fuel to the idle circuit to prevent run on or "dieseling" , the two wires that run to it , one needs power when you turn the ignition on the other is an earth , you should hear it click when you turn the ignition on. without this hooked up the car wont idle , if it does idle , its because someone has removed the solenoid from the carby and cut the end off to disable it , in this case the car will most likely run on when shut off .. the dash post is an emmision control feature , its to stop "excess hydrocarbons" primarily , it also helps to stabilise idle control. what it does is stop the throttle from snapping shut when the accelerator is released , its a nice feature , but not that important |

one more thing .. see the little valve in between the vacuum line on no 1 pic , the green bit should face the other way |

cheers losfer i'll get onto it...that plug though has a green wire as well as a black one and a white and black wire...am i right in assuming the green needs volts and the other too need to be earthed? it would kinda explain why it doesnt hold idle |
