Had my third apart. Now should I set the backlash to spec or should I set it to what it already was? It was .19mm whereas the max range in the workshop manual is .15mm. I was wondering if I reset it to within factory range will it be noisy due to it already being worn in at .19mm. |

Set it to that, .04 is not a lot, but still set it to spec's. Pinion bearing's ok??? |

No dramas with any of the bearings from the axles right through to the pinion suprisingly. I really did expect the axle bearings to be shagged. I didn't think .04 was a problem hence not knowing whether or not to take it back to spec. I've ordered a spring balance to check the preload on the pinion and side bearings. |
