I am going to replace all the Unis on my new toy, had a look at the Jackshaft and thought, ye gods, how do I get that out, anyone know. For those who dont know me new toy, its a LWB 91 maruti, has a 1.3l and 5 speed box if that makes any difference. |

you should be able to just drop the 4 bolts out of the transfer case end, and it will slide out of the gear box spline. droping the front tail shaft will give you a little more room to work |

x2 It slides forward enough to get over the nut. Might have to hit it with a (soft) hammer to get it moving off the flange. |

You might want to drop the gearbox oil first! Otherwise you will have a mess once the shaft is out. |

Otherwise you will have a mess once the shaft is out. i can remove mine with no oil comming out and thats with the gear box full of oil

Well g'box that i pulled out of my lwb made a mess. Maybe it was filled wrong by someone

oh hahaha maybe be best to get a container ready to catch the oil if it is overfull

Laying on y back n looking up, it does not look like the Jackshaft will come out without removing the transfer case. It is really frigging tight up in there, it cannot go over, and looks like there is no way in hell of it coming out under. All the oils will be dumped and replaced with redline, so drips or flods are not a consideration. |

give it a go, bud, unless some thing is setup incorrectly, it will come out once you have the 4 bolts undone. |

lol well yea there is that, under suziblu I can see the jackshaft coming out easily, but not this one. Can the 1.3l gear box/clutch be adjusted, mine is friggin tight, turn the car on with your foot on the clutch, in gear and she tries to go forward. |

If you have a box section crossmember for the gearbox then it will be a damn tight fit and hard to remove jackshaft but it should come out. Try undoing the transfer mounts and moving the transfer a bit. Clutch is adjustable on the arm that comes out of the drivers side of bellhousing. |

Too low, canna do it man. Funny but, decided to go get a carton, and thought, hey, why not drive me new toy, so as normal I started it in neutral in the transfer case, twix hi an low, for this is the only way she will not try an creep forward, and let her warm up some, then into gear and away, now, no blasted forward motion when I start it once warm, stupid motor cars, always leave ya scratchin ya head. Im glad I got that carton, now for some serious er, thinkin. |

Redline, fully synthetic, I use it in suziblu, love the stuff, very light, so far less resistance. |
