Went to my local off road store today. Got myself a quote for some srings.
$97 each for the fronts and
$129 each for the rears.

Is that a good price?

Sound good to me i got a price off a place and they wanted $1700 for the springs and shocks(bushs i guesse!) He said it was fitted though!

So i didn't book that in but thats a good price i guesse! What lift is that?

Might grab some with ya and maybe get them a bit cheaper?

Sounds like RRP on heavy duty OME springs coz that's what I paid for mine from ARB a few months back. If you don't have a big load or tow get the heavy duty's and take out the overload leaf front and rear. Good ride height and less sag as you get the extra full length spring and excellent ride and flex...best spring on a sierra IMO.

This was an ABR store that i went too. And its just the springs no bushes or anything. But ill put them in myself. I do all my own work.

oh and suzuki kid i though you would have had already had a set of springs under your rig.

Yeah i do but there saggin a bit these days and one of the front ones is bent!

Have heard of the heavy duty and taking the over load spring out then ussing shocks off a commodore and a hi ace van!The red shocks from supercheap are advised too! 8) Apparently flexs really nicely!

After the weekend i'm deffinatly up for more flex and that extra half an inch of hight!

i used them in my car, payed around that for them.

get your bushes from bruce and your all set.

my springs were very flat, the rears were totally stuffed. i grew 2.5" in the front and 3" at the back.

look about halfway down the page there for the before and after shots.

Put your rears in the front and buy lifted rears. Cheaper and better flex.

So you dont have to mod the spring hangers or anything or move them foward or anything?

If it's just a bolt up thing i'll do that! 8)

Post subject:  Re: OME Price

well according to outerlimits sticky section it requires the rear mount to the installed 25mm back and then extened shakels.

Author:  waxhead [ Thu Aug 23, 2007 1:03 am ]
Post subject:  Re: OME Price

Yeah thats it. pretty sure its due to the spring being longer, rather than just having more arc.

Author:  royce [ Thu Aug 23, 2007 1:16 am ]
Post subject:  Re: OME Price

its a combination of the longer spring and in most cases being softer and a greater shackle arc and length

Author:  suzukikid [ Thu Aug 23, 2007 1:50 am ]
Post subject:  Re: OME Price

So you have to get another 2 rear mounts and weld up front?

Gotta look into it! Any info would be appreciaed! 8)

Any idea of how long the new shackles would need to be?

Author:  royce [ Thu Aug 23, 2007 11:01 am ]
Post subject:  Re: OME Price

mine were 2" longer than stock, I reckon you could almost get away with 1" longer
