Trying to get the engine bay, underside of bonnet, and transtunnel clean. Spent about 6 hours so far and still got a shit load to do. I just bought every kind of degreaser cleaner from supernotsocheap. Will post results soon. In the mean time. What do you use? |

Kenco Degreaser for heavy stuff or Kenco Shift-It for light stuff... The shift-it is awesome and won't mess up alloy either |

i use that as well works well but i have the same issue with my tunnel and around that area after pulling transfer out and looking at the tunnel its a mess i want to get it clean as well. the cheap stuff dont work that well when its that thick mines been building up for all its life by the looks. |

After you have finished cleaning it spray everything under there with armorall, anything black, rocker cover, rad, air intake and all hoses comes up looking like brand new. |

CT14 degreaser my chemtech seems to shift alot of the harder crud off. CT18 is great for getting the mud off after a wheel, doesnt leave chalkyness |

I came to this thread to say this, its like part oven cleaner or something, does amazing things to the skin so must be good at degreasing |

We go through shit loads of it. at $2 a tin it makes for an extremely quick engine bay clean and it really does penetrate grease well |

If people are interested I will post results during the week. My engine bay was pretty stuburn as the the heavy duty degreasers did nothing. Throttle body/carby cleaner was the best, but also most exspensive at 15 bucks per tin. I spent $130 on degreasers cleaners today I have a couple of others I want to try during the week. |

silicone spray everything once it's cleaned. Mud and dirt cant stick to it and makes it super easy to clean after wheeling. |

chemtec who make ct18 also make a degreaser. i think it is ct14 but i might be wrong. ct18 is brilliant on dirt and bugs and stuff like that but anything that is a petrochemical will need a proper solvent degreaser. hay atari if ya like ct18 give ct20 a go. it makes ya paint clean and shiny at the same time. |

use petrol and a stiff nylon brush to break the worst of it up then use the $2 tins of degreaser from stupidcheap to clean the petrol and left over filth off. |

1 litre of diesel and 1 litre of kero mixed together. Total cost about $4 for 2 litres. Apply using a stiff brush like this one
Its going to move all the hard deposit but will leave a residue that all those other crappy degreasers will be able to remove or you could just pour boiling water (not from the tap from a kettle) over the parts you have cleaned and it will take of the residue. Just get scrubbing. NOTHING will remove thick deposits in one easy go. Just think for $130 you could have bought a gerni....... |

Good for dirt and mud only, useless on grease and oil |

Got a karcher. Did nothing but wet everything. It was more experimental. Now I know what to buy first time. |
