Just been doing a bit of work on a G13BB motor from a 1999 Jimny with the oil looking more like iced coffee 8O . Pulled the head off, all head bolts this time seemed to be under the right tension ie no loose ones. Headgasket, most likely the original was slightly deformed but no signs of breaks or cracks through it. Cylinders do not show any evidence of water/coolant entering them. Apart from the headgasket being on the soft side, there didnt seem any other significant obvious issues. So anyone else experienced this?
It did use quite a bit of water. What are the 13bb 16 valve heads like? Prone to cracking or any other issues. Where's a descent place to get the head checked in Briz preferable south side?

Yea deffo planning to get this head checked before it goes back on. Anyone recommend any places to take it to in Briz and rough cost for testing? Are the 16v head prone to cracking?

Cheers Dan

G16B heads a bad for cracking.. I have had a few duds... I don't know for sure but I don't think G13BB heads are much better...
Mine cost $70 to have pressure tested.
Any decent cylinder head reconditioning specialist should be able to do it.
