whenever i turn sharp right like turining into a side road my sierra briefly hesitates like if it is starving for fuel for a second. it does this even with the fuel tank full. Is this normal for a carby sierra?

Service your carby, the float is probably stuck.. And the fuel bowl in the carby is leaning out when you take a right turn..

Best way to confirm what i'm saying, is do left-hand circles.. And see if it floods

mmm yeah mine will do that, at the bottom of my street theres a dip that you go down and on the dip you make a right hand turn as your going up.. ill have it floored around the dip part, but when im actually turning it kinda chugs a bit.. once it straightens out though the power comes back.. only place it does it though :S

Carby cleaner is good to keep it working, but it might have actually siezed up.. You'll need to tear the carby apart to get to it

Make sure to take photos, or place parts in a line on your workbench.. So you know which order they go in, carbys have lots of little parts
