If you got that far, you should not have any problems. Years and years since I have done them. From memory, if you unclip the springs, they should just come off. There will be an adjuster in there (that looks like it under the piston). In the old days, this needed backing off with a screwdriver on a notched wheel, but now they are automatic and tighten up every time you reverse or something. Not sure if there is any knack to loosening off the auto adjuster, probably not otherwise you probably would not have got the drum off. Somebody else will know more than me.. |

its pretty hard to stuff it up. All you really need is a flat blade screw driver and some pointy nose plyers. |

Before you start , degreaser and a gurny , that brake dust is not so good for the lungs , as said do one side at a time , a tip is take 1 side of the shoes when you buy the new one's as there are variations and this will save you a trip , Cheers Paul. |

do the rear brakes still work? sometimes the cylinders can seize and you don't really notice for normal driving, but when you stop on a steep hill and only have front brakes, you go sliding backwards real fast

1. Did you get the right shoes. 2. With that much crap/grit did you get the lip removed and the drum machined. 3. Never put or get brake fluid on the pads as they are stuffed if you do. 4. Adjust the brakes all the way in the drum should fit over quite easily. 5. Figure out which way to adjust the adjusting screw prior to fitting the drum. 6. Slide drum on and secure with nuts. 7. Use adjusting tool/screwdriver through slot in rear of backing plate to adjust brake shoes to just grip drum , but still turn , there will be a flat grommit in the backing plate , you will have to work out which is in and out so do this with the drum off first. 8. Make sure you refit the grommit to stop crap going in the hole. 9. Bleed brakes , all 4 wheels , not just the two rear , Cheers Paul. |

thats not how sierra drums adjsut the half moon ratchet section on the bar that goes from shoe to shoe under the wheel cylinder, thats the adjuster, basiclly push the half moon bit all the way in, that will pull the shoes in, you might have to slip the shoes up and down a bit to get the drums on but should slide right on then just bleed and go, by the time the brakes are bled they would of self adjusted back out |

all sorted, went back out and had a fiddle, tapped in the thing ur talking under cylinder and all good. Yeh had to give brakes a quick bleed.seem to be working good. 3 out of 4 pistons were siezed haha. just gave them a quick clean and freed them up. Ended up being so simple once i figured out wat ya do. thanks heaps boys for the help. took 3 lots of shoe b4 getting right ones???? |

dude, go get new cylinders, they are cheap and I will bet they leak within a month yeah there are a few different shoes, write the number on the inside of your glovebox lid
