Not really a tech question but just wondering is it just my Zook, or is it a zook thing or 4x4 thing in general, but mine seems to have a different clunk or sound every week, and is always doing little things like wheel bearings, bushes ect every week. Everyone else have the same problem or is it just me!
Very annoying!

the most annoying sound is my damn leaf springs... even getting in and out of the car they squeal like you parked on a cat.

nope never had the problem at all
this is where the factory manual comes into its own, setting things like bearings and kingpins by feel never works out
plus you need to go over everything more often once you start modding em and even just using em off road, plus your talking a 21 year old car

Yep, maintenance is the key word. There is a schedule in the FSM, start maintaining your vehicle to that schedule and it should help out a lot.
Sometimes it does take a while to get things "up to scratch" though. But when you think about it that's pretty much par for the course because as Royce said, we're dealing with aging vehicles.

Mine has a couple of sounds but when i find them i have been fixing them!
You have to maintain the car or the noises can turn serious!
Give it a good once over every couple of months and you should be sweet or else turn up the radio!

I have a set of front leaf spring that came on the front cut from Japan. I found it interesting that they have shims between the spring leaves.

poly bushes tend to squeak a hell of a lot more than the old rubber ones. shame rubber doesnt last as long.. but they do aid in flex a bit :S not so rigid.. cant win
i installed a stereo to fix a few annoying rattles.
oh and i installed some foam around the door handle mechanisms and lock rods. here is a pic.. cut down a lot of noise!
for the last one the lock i put the foam on then zip tied it on, not as tight as possible, then slid it up behind the panel.

Spraying Tal-5 or lanotec into the leaves really helps quieten them down too... For a while! Did it 2 months ago and they are still quiet!
