Post subject:  Gearbox Leak's

Hey , chap's if your gearboxes are leaking oil while climbing hills and your arround the 85 year model you will find a small 2mm hole up on the back of the shifter plate which will leak gear oil once raised. This is the gearbox breather. It might appear as a flogged out seal on the rear of the gear box , but it is the breather losing oil. The shifter plate can be removed without taking the gearbox out and I drilled the hole and tapped it 6mm. I then on the opposite side fitted a 5/16 breather hose and attached an air filter in the engine bay , might help you guys who are losing gear oil and keep replacing rear seal , Cheers Paul.
