Hi Guys, i have an 84 Zuk, it has a 900cc 4cyl Petrol, and i was wanting to be able to do 110 on the freeway, as the current engine was only designed to hit speeds of 80-90km/h. I have thought of putting a turbo on the car, but that wont help the top speed, then i thought of bigger wheels, but that will leave the Zuk with minus torque, THEN i considered putting a Diesel Engine in. SO... i was wanting your opinoin on what you would do, keeping in mind i would like to keep the cost low. Except if i was to put a diesel engine in. Which diesel would you reccommend for reliability, ease of installation and cost... sorry to swamp with question |

my 1 litre with factory gearing, 4sp and 31's used to sit on 110, 120 all day long the secret? pull the stupid engine fan off, 1 litres love to rev but the fan makes it sound like its going to pop keeping it cool with just a thermo is another problem though |

i wouldn't mind the revving noise, that i could deal with. Great, thanks for the answer, also what did you have to do to allow room for the 31's to work and be used without scrubbing etc? |

Easist way to get more top speed and more torque/power Sell it and buy a Vitara. Cheapest and best option available |

A body lift is where you place spacers between the body and chassis at the mounting points. Pretty easy, but preperation and planning is needed... |

Okay you don't want a Vitara. Then get a 1.3 NT transfer case and also get some NT diffs and fit wt centres to them. Then fit a 1.3 and five speed for more power. Or a 1.6 EFI vitara motor Or maybe buy a NT sierra and save yourself tons & tons of work and money |

Unfortunatly I dont think there is a cheap easy fix we are all in the same boat. The better they are offroad the worse they are on road. It depends what you want out of your zook. Ive never had a 1tl so I cant say for sure but fitting bigger tyres may give you higher gearing but at the expensive of low down power. Nik |
