Typo maybe? Surely we all know he's talking about a 10.5" wide tyre.

Just stumbled across the bestest tyre in the history of Suzuki tyres. 35 10.5 R15 Baja T/A KR2 Currently made specifically by BFG motorsport for Class 10 off road race cars (buggies, 2.4 litre NA motors) and stamped "for racing use only" but how awesome would these be as a summer tyre for a Sierra/Vitara Steve. PS - those photos are from Jimco's fab shop near El Cajon outside San Diego. Not sure there's any in Australia as yet.

Thought i'd hi-jack this thread and ask a question that i sure had been asked about 1000 times. What psi do you guys recommend for 215/75r15 BFG AT's for on-road on a Jimny? Tyre place put 40 psi in them but that seems way too hard, I've lowered them to 30, not sure if that still too much.

start with whats on the tyre placard & google the 4 psi rule, use that as a quide on how to get to your optimal tyre pressures & if you were serious you'd have a summer & winter starting pressure along with mud, sand, rock etc etc.

I leave them hard for a little while if just fitted, helps them seat the beads better. New tyres can be easy to debead. Could be any number of reasons why, just going on my experience.
Then later I would stick about 23 in them

pretty sure the beads are seated the second the tyre is inflated, maybe give it a day or 2 for the tyre slime use to fit the tyres onto the rim to dry out... question time.... what has more pressure; a 10lt air tank with 10psi or a 100lt air tank with 10psi.

i strongly advise having a good play with tyre pressures, it's one thing that's free & easily changed & often overlooked, even a small change either way will produce varied results both good & bad. personally i feel this is applicable for anything with inflatable tyres & when you look at it this way, dropping to 8psi from 10psi is a 20% decrease, offroad the gains from dropping those 2 extra psi can be huge.

Agree. I was amazed the difference from 10psi down to 9psi on the last sandy trip. Also dropped from 25psi to 23psi for on road recently, and comfort, handling and control improved noticeably.

Trik performance.
Everyone else's beadlock kits are pretty much rebadged trik kits.

I found trik off road products that does them for 89 bucks. Can you go wrong with beadlocks or are they all much the same? Seems super cheap!
Or is it trick performance in dandenong? What are their prices?

Find out if that includes hardware. 20 something bolts a wheel adds up to over a 100 bolts for a set of 5 which can be a hidden cost if it's not included. Also thickness varies between brands, off road shops normally are a bit thicker than racing shops I've found.

The trik design centres the tyre correctly on the rim.

Apparently fern tree gully way. I haven't bought directly from him, but I do know he's the source of most kits people sell.
