just get the rings, i got a set of hubs from fatzook with spacers for 160 total. Havent fitted them yet, but its not hard to put a bit of sealant on... i mean really... why bother retrofitting more than just the hubs? if you torque up your bolts correctly and have some gasket seal on there, its gonna last forever.... well until next time u pull it anyway.
btw the spacers are REALLY good quality.

If there's nothing wrong with the vacuum hubs, why change them? If you are really worried about shit getting in, why not buy new AVM hubs? They are a bit exy($330 last time i priced them up), but at least you will have your 1 less surface to worry about shit getting in and not other mods will be needed to make them work...

Also worth noting that any custom/ modified parts will make roadside repairs that much harder should you need to replace parts. The spacers allow unmoddified parts to be fitted, making it much easier to find replacement parts should the need arrise.

Just putting it out there... all i need to do is run vitara/sj80 bearing nut and retainer.. not a custom part. also allows me to use the bearing tool i already have and standard hub bolts that are common.. no custom bits. no adapters, just factory Suzuki parts. in fact this lets me to use 100% factory parts and NOT introduce custom parts/bolts etc.

Thats fair enough.
But just as a point of interest, which do you think is more common? Coily or jimny hub assemblies?

useing the most common (sierra) hubs and the nuts are off a vitara also way more common than a jimmy... vitara and sj80 share the same bearing retaining nut

I've had no problem with my manual hubs using adapter rings with the longer bolts and sealed them with the same sealer that I used for diff centre seal.
I think the vit nuts would be a great experiment if nothing else. Why not give it a shot just to see if it works.

Is this what you are after? Only have one set, and it don't have the little lock screws. Yours if you want it.

As I am using FWH AND Sierra CV's I had to have quite a thick spacer, 16mm. The spacer is sealed and grub screwed to the locking hub, and sealed to the wheel hub. The 6 holes are a tight fit for minimal movement around studs (not bolts). These studs have a finer thread on the outside for better tightening.
When I had a rough cut 10mm spacer and bolts, I was always breaking bolts. The holes were too sloppy. I have not broken a stud with the new system since. Except to say I stripped the thread because I overtightened one when tensioning. They do need tensioning every so often.

If your going to the effort of this conversion why not replace the bearing hub with one from a Vitara? That way you get to piss off the crappy Jimny bearing system.

Same bearings noob As far as I know the Jimny is a cassette type roller bearing. The Vitara is a cassette type tapered roller bearing with plastic cage (O.E). Same size etc....different bearing.

When I've bought bearings for my jimny, I've received both types. I'm pretty sure it's just what the shop has in stock.
Weaves said that they're the same same.

Just wanting to confirm that all we need for this conversion is the Ben-T kit plus Sierra hubs?
Thanks

That's it. Make sure your hubs come with cone washers.

Thanks Should we be looking for used genuine sierra hubs (at a wreckers or parting out etc) or are there better after-market options? Have heard about AVM and Aisin hubs but not really sure which are best etc.

Ok cool, just not sure if they're in our price range after looking them up (can't find any Australian suppliers?) Thinking we might just find some second-hand Sierra hubs, just wanted to see if Vitara hubs would fit also?
