On the belt/belt tension...
Mine is actually squealing at the moment, until the belt gets hot...
Plus, and it may seem like a stupid question, do you have the temp controller all the way over in the Blue bit, if its not fully into the Blue bit, it will cycle on and off, thermostat controlled, so you get cycles of cold and warm air coming out, i set mine at the beginning of the blue bit, so it does cycle on and off, and doesnt sap the engine power so much...

A/C was my trade, and i have never seen a perfectly sealed car aircon... they all leak, some more than others, and some very slowly... they have improved some things to reduce possible leakages, but they are still not a perfectly sealed system.....

I've gone through the Haynes manual and checked out what I can online, but still can't find what size/type A/C belt I need for a 90 Sierra.
Like Damo said, it'll be a lucky dip if Repco or the likes get it right... just wondering if anybody actually knows what size belt is needed for the job?

take the belt into bursons-repco etc they should all have a belt sizer and be able to match one if it comes to that.
if the belt still has it the size is usually printed on it somewhere

I have no belt to go off. There was no belt on the AC when I bought the car
