Some nice black paint and i reckon she'd look a trillion bucks.

Very good. So pretty much the only thing you used from your old sierra trailer was the axle? :)

How do you go with the weight 350kg is too heavy as per the suzuki towing capacity. Isn't it 300 or 1300braked.

Mitch.

Paint will just get scratched, and besides my next Jimny is Silver. I used the Axle, Hubs, and Drawbar.

I think I actually made a miscalculation in that post regarding weight. Pretty sure total unloaded weight was 250. With gear I'm at 350kg. Has been built very light. Without the tent attached I can easily lift one side off the ground and I'm not very strong.

Have been wanting to carry the fridge and some fuel on the drawbar since I built the trailer. Off to moreton soon so no time like the present to get stuck in with the new gasless mig (my new favourite toy)

It causes a stress point. Only weld lengthways along the drawbar. Never across it.

Draw bar is way stronger than necessary. I'll go easy on the welds.

Not across sounds like good advice

The finished frame. Just got to sheet the front of the gerry can holders and make a box for the fridge.

Next up is the mounts to hang the water tank underneath.

You'll want something in front of the fridge to protect it from rock spray. Guarantee you'll end up with dents or a wrecked cover otherwise. Plastic jerries should be fine - mine have done several hundred kay's on dirt roads in a similar position on mine with no dramas.

Looking good - nice work! :)

I'm yet to make a slip on box which will double as a stand for the fridge while camping. The Gerrys will have a sheet of ply that will fold up as a small table and the rest of the time be a facade for protection.

After a recent trip with the family, I've decided I'm going to rebuild my old rusted out box trailer trailer to put behind the zook for trips. It'll be nice taking both my family AND luggage next time I go away. Looking at yours has just given me some idea's on how I'm going to tackle mine. Good job, and keep the updates coming. All I gotta do now is find some time to start on mine

Hey mate can you grab some inside pics of the trailer. Like without the camper top if possible.(or if it can just swing up.)

That's it! No slides/drawers, no kitchen, etc. Every extra mechanism adds more weight so I didn't bother. At the moment the tent is solid mounted but I have a swing up kit ready to attach.

I stripped the canvas off yesterday so I can fit the flip-top kit. The side access doors are handy but cumbersome for loading and unloading.
Also thinking of spinning the tent 180 degrees so the fridge mount and draw bar are under the awning when setup. I'm planning on making an aluminum cover/box to protect the fridge which when in camp can be used as a cooker stand and kitchen bench. it will sit over the end of the draw bar and hitch.
