Are you happy with 1.6 on the bottom or would you go 2mm? I'll only have one centre support bar

With the supports as I have them, yes I'm happy. It only has one small piece that pops when loading/unloading.
Though in saying that, I strapped down everything before I made the hard lid and now I pack it so the lid locks everything in place (I hate seeing my stuff getting destroyed when it doesn't need to be).
With only one centre support 1.6 might be a bit thin.

With regards to your drawbar size, I posted this in the trailer mega murge thread. The link is worth checking out; pete_79 wrote: I had this in my favourites from when I was designing my trailer, just saw it this morning and thought I should share. Design specs for trailer drawbarsThere is 2 good links on here with British design specs, I used the excel spread sheet for working out my single drawbar size. If using these charts remember that they use British standard steel specs for the calculations and Australian standard steel grades are a lot better the UK standards. Minimum Yield stress for UK steel= 235 MPa Minimum Yield stress for AU steel= 350 MPa (or 450 MPa for DuraGal) My drawbar is 65x65x3 DuraGal.

I put a post in the 'I want it' thread but I figured not everyone looks in there so might as well comment in here too. I'm looking to up-size my tyres on the trailer and want to get up around 30". I'll go up to 30x9.5r15 on my rims, but I don't mind going to 16 or 17 inch rims as well if you've got a pair for me with Zook stud pattern (I can get 30s/31s for 17 inch rims pretty easy). If anyone out there has a pair of tyres they want to get rid of can you shoot me a PM? Oh, nearly forgot the most important thing in this thread... Photos!! The trailer is settling into it's new home now. And I've just got to finish off the gutters and flashing this weekend, then I can start building the workshop inside the new man cave. Building this shed with just me and the misses has been a pretty big task (much bigger then I expected), but we're almost done now. Then it's time to start the next zook project... *Edit; that photo of the unfinished shed was hurting my OCD eyes, so here's one of it completed instead.

Just a little update for the moment. I got my new shoes fitted, rolling on 30s now..... But, while at the tyre fitters we found something scary. Turns out the tyre that came on the rim from the wreckers had been driven flat and totally destroyed the inside of the side walls. When we stripped it off there was piles of rubber dust pouring out of it, then on closer inspection I found this in 4 or 5 spots around the tyre. That is the wires from the side wall poking out..... I'm counting my self extremely lucky that i didn't run very low pressures in these tyres on the highway. We could have had a real disaster if we'd let those side walls heat up too much driving at high speeds.

Cheers Connor Hi mate, The inside dimensions of the box are 1200mm L x 1100mm W x 450mm D (1280x1180x490mm overall). On a side note, I know I just put the 30s on, but I was rotating the tyres on the wife's car the other day and it got me thinking about evolution... Hmmmm, now I wonder...........

I'm actually bouncing around a few more ideas of things to do on it now. I've been debating with myself if I should keep these thread going once I start tinkering with it. I think my next lot of mods will move it away from the little Jimny based trailer that is is today. The photo of the tyres above will give some idea of the direction I'm thinking of heading towards.

Keep them coming. Everyone likes custom builds. Even if they are bigger. Some one might get ideas

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long with no updates in here. striker99 wrote: Nice, I like that it is multifunction work bench cross a bar! Firstly I guess, the shed bar is officially finished now and gets used most afternoons.

But what about the trailer.....?? Well, I think I need to fess up first, the trailer has been getting towed around by a big green Jeep for the last few months. Sadly we sold the Jimny a little while ago and up sized to 2013 JK with a couple of mods (yes I did mean up sized - not upgraded). Anyway, the Jeep is the wife's car and I've been kind-of on the look out for another Zook ever since the Jimny rolled out of my driveway. But more on that later..... I've never really felt a lot of emotion about the big green booga, it's just not the same as a Zook. But the extra horsepower is pretty fun on the bitumen and I guess it goes alright off road... So... The trailer.. It's been getting used a lot and with bigger tow rig I have to admit it's been getting overloaded a bit lately. I think I had close to 100kg on the lid for this trip. The gas strut could just hold it open. We did a couple of trips around the boarder ranges. Absolutely beautiful country up there. This trip was on a private property. And this one was in the National Park (I took the work ute on that trip). Then we went from the mountains to the ocean. A week on Stradbroke Island was next on the list. While on Straddy I got a true perspective on just how much bigger other cars are compared to the Jimny. Remember the trailer was built to almost perfectly match the track with on the Jimny, there's a big difference here. Just for a bit of island hopping, we hit Fraser for a week next. Took an hour to get from the end of the bitumen to the ferry. But once on the island it was surprisingly empty and didn't hit too many crowds, even at the popular spots like Lake Mackenzie. The surf was pumping for a few days. And apparently the dunes were very big for 7 year olds. We camped for a couple of days at Central Station. And the rest of the trip up and Dundaburra. Oh, nearly forgot. I also made up a frame from Bunnings alloy qubeloc for my flexible solar panel, works a treat too. But what about the Zook....??? Well this tin top literally found me today. It drove down my driveway and I couldn't let it leave. Looks like I'm back in a zook again....

Was up the back of the block chopping up a ton of firewood and thought we should do a day trip starting at Imbil and see how far south we can get on those tracks, then finish up at my place for a fire and a few beers. It's a full house here at the moment and I have a fair bit of travel coming up with work, so can't really do anything until mid July. But we'll keep in touch, just not on FB.

Was about to peruse this thread to sort of see what I should think about, to plan making a camper setup to go on bike trailer. Damn photobucket ruined everything. Edit: just had a read; some great ideas. The removable guards especially.

Yeah mate been getting a few PMs asking about the pics on this thread. I will fix them at some stage, just looking for a more permanent answer. If they let us upload our photos to AZ for our builds I'll do it. If that's not going to be an option I could possible set up my own site to host them. Haven't had time to look at it properly yet but it doesn't look too hard or expensive. But that's a discussion for the other threads on that topic, I'd rather leave this one just for the build.

Looks like I didn’t get around to fixing all of the photos in this thread after all.
Well anyway. Now that I’ve finished my other camper build it’s time to let someone else have some fun with this awesome little trailer. I will be giving it a fresh coat of paint and regreasing the bearings this weekend in preparation for selling it.
This is just so perfect for a Suzuki that I want to offer it to all of you guys first before putting it up on Gumtree.
I will be selling it with the hard top, roof pod and solar panel with controller. It will be all ready for you to throw a battery and fridge in it and go camping. I’ve just paid for 6 months rego this morning and long as you’re in Queensland we can do the rego transfer on line, so it can be all yours in minutes.
Will post some photos up once it’s looking all nice and shiny again, but feel free to send me a PM if you’re interested in purchasing. I might be able to be persuaded to meet you up to 2 hours from the Sunshine Coast (Gold Coast, Maryborough, Yarraman) if you’re not that close to me.

The trailer is now fully resprayed inside and out with 2 coats of quality epoxy paint. All timbers have been sanded back and freshly oiled. Bearings packed with fresh grease. All internal wiring has been redone. I want to offer this to the AZ crew first before I advertise elsewhere. This trailer now presents as new and comes with; * Australian made eye to eye springs with genuine Suzuki shockies * axe * shovel * 6 custom length tarp poles and spreader bar * roof racks (ready for your roof top tent) * luggage pod with flexible solar panel mounted on it (can be mounted on the roof racks or directly onto the alloy lid) * solar controller with Andersen plug inlet at front of trailer * 12v internal wiring, including isolators, circuit breaker, voltage meter, LED strip lights, cigarette plug and Anderson plug outlets. * wired for electric breaks, comes on 10 inch hubs with Suzuki stud pattern (no backing plates for the brakes though) * internal storage boxes, with slide out pantry and kitchen with 2 drawers * 2 burner gas cooker Just chuck in a battery and gas bottle and you’re ready to go camping. The fridge space is designed to fit a 40L Waeco/Dometic fridge, but I’m pretty sure other brand 40l units fit as well. Send me a PM if you’re interested. Photos taken as it stands today;
