Howdy lads
i recently bought a 1986 Sj51 Lwb? and the old fella i bought it off suggested this site as the go to place for suzukis
now im pretty chuffed it has next to no rust in it and im looking at getting it roadworthy rather soon i dont know much about the "zook's".
so far ive run into a couple issues that i wanted to get some advice on its the first car ive decided to learn and work on as i have a passing knowledge of cars
i figure itd be good to teach me how to fix simple stuff so on so on
now onto the issues from what ive gathered in its lifetime its had a 2nd engine put in which is all fine an dandy but the transmission is The original tras thats done roughly
about 480k managed to drive it from old fellers place to mine but i noticed that the 3rd gear and the 5th gear had some sort of whine to it? hard to explain faster i went louder it got
ive tried to look at finding out what it is but alas no dice got it back home and its sat here ever since according to good ole grandfather as we were driving it the rear main seal ? went as well
and that got oil in the clutch? so now it wont go into gear without a large amount of effort
i guess im asking would it be fine for me to do the rear main and the clutch? is the whine and the ks on the transmission a big issue? or would i be better off trying to find a relatively better and low k trans?
and putting that in from that i am pretty new to this so any help what so ever would be mint cheers
and does anyone know were i can get a heavy duty soft top made for the suzi?
