The seatbelts in my Holden Drover have been faded from the sun and have turned light brown/beige. I was wondering how to dye seatbelts. I know that the seatbelts have most likely lost some rigidity but new seatbelts are too expensive and safety isn't my number one priority. I know that dyeing the seatbelts won't fix them. Also does anyone know what the size of a headliner is for the ute models Gus |

A fabric dye would do it... But to do that properly you'd need to remove the belts to be able to get them into a hot pot of water & dye. That heat might not be great for the plastic/nylon etc though... And god knows if the dye will start coming off on your clothes after you're done?! Another option might be vinyl seat re-conditioner stuff??? But seriously, while safety may not be a priority, that fading is caused by UV damage so those belts are likely well past their expiry and may snap in a proper crash. New belts are like $250 which isn't too bad considering they're a safety item? |
