I am just wondering if anyone knows what size tyres I can fit on my zook without a lift. I can't do a lift because of Landcruiser reasons but I would like to be able to go further off road and get up to higher speeds without revving the fuck out of my engine.

Which vehicle are you talking about?

Suspension lift doesn’t have anything to do with tyre size.

What speed are you hoping to achieve? A stock 1.3 Sierra spins 3550 at 100km/h, that’s not all that high and if you lower cruise rpm you’ll struggle to maintain speed in 5th gear so you’ll end up in 4th, defeating the purpose of the taller gearing.

215 75 15 is the largest tyre that fits without any guard contact and without gearing issues. Thats basically a 28” tyre which is ~8% over stock, so cruise revs with drop to 3226rpm. Any lower than this and you’ll be back to 4th.

An LJ81 is a different kettle of fish.

Yea I'm talking about my Drover. I'm hoping to be able to run at 110 km/h. I'm running stock tyres on it and it sounds like it revs higher than 3550 rpm.

Stock early jimny’s spin over 3900 at 100km/hr. Don’t worry about it. If you go over 28” you need to correct the gearing as 5th becomes pretty much useless unless you’re going down hill.

Also take into consideration that bigger/wider tyres have higher rolling resistance and aerodynamic drag which means the feeling of lost power is amplified, so it actually makes sense to slightly overgear to prevent lugging.

Welcome to the suzuki life - Where revving it's tits off is all part of the fun.

Drive it around 3,000rpm for cruising, gear changes at 4,500. (as a guide)

A 1.3 won’t tolerate 3k rpm at 100km/h for cruising. It’ll fall on its face.

no no I meant in general... Like lower suburban speeds.. It likes to sit around there. The coily I'm driving at the moment loves 3k-3.5k to putter along.

Its a suzuki....if it aint revving it aint running!

If coming from a bigger car it can feel a little strange, but tge little engines loves revs a whole lot nore than the bigger engines.

My TB48 and my VQ40 give me anxiety when they go over 4k, but my jimny would sit well over 4k on a daily basis (140+kph highways) and i feel relaxed.

I did eventually go to a 215/80R15 and it reved a lot lower, but didnt likentge highway as much. Holding 140kph was difficult and it definitely put more stress on the auto
