Hi guys,
new member to the community but have been reading a lot of useful information in the last couple of weeks. My partner just fullfilled her dream and got a Suzuki sierra 84 hard top. Cars is in fairy good condition for its age. The only immidate thing that we need to address is the steering. Apparently the steering housing is leaking and it feels like the car is aiming for the nearest tree whilst driving. Instead of repairing the steering, we are thinking about upgrading to power steering straight away. From what I have read here is, we have to options: Get a vitara PS assembly and the bent kit or a jimny PS assembly, which is a straight bolt on, but we would loose some steering as the pitman arm is shorter. Question is, is all I need the PS steering assembly (pump, reservoir, hoses, steering housing) or anything else? The car has a g16b engine conversion.
Hope you guys can help me, as I am just learning all about the car and what needs to be done and how to work around the car.
Regards Andy

Hi andy, Good that you have a G16b already, as that should be running multi-rib belts already, which is what ever pump you run will have. I haven't done this to a 1.0litre chassis, but you might find clearance issues with the radiator supports with either or both the box and/or pump. The hoses / steel pipes will need a fair bit of 'manipulation' to fit - the Jimny ones are much closer to being right than Vitara ones, although a industrial hose repairer like Pirtek or Enzed can make custom hoses up. There are variations on pump mounting brackets, as the G13bb / G16b has been fitted to a few different models - some are semi incorporated with an A/C compressor bracket, which is not ideal - unless you want to run A/C as well!. Rgs, Michael

Thanks mate, yeah they're isn't much space at all near the radiator as a new bigger radiator has been installed. Guess I need to some more research and compare pics what could fit.
