I have a 89 vitara with the coolant choke. (Standard carb). The choke is not working and not needed anyway for what I am using it for.
Is it alright to just cap the coolant line at the base of the carby on the engine side? Or do I need to run a line bypassing the choke down to the pipe behind the water pump?

Because the lines are perished and the choke doesn't work, or not needed. Also they run close to the fuel lines which can cause possible vapor lock which is not ideal for a carby vehicle.
Question is would anyone know or deleted them themselves and had any problems? Does it need coolant flowing through the line for some reason? I know weber carbs don't always have coolant choke so what happens to that line in that case?
Hi kemlar The auto choke might not be that hard to adjust and get working. Just got mine working after at least 6mnths owning the car and thinking it was a lost cause. If ya want to know how I did it? Few things you need to check N I can run you through it if interested. As for blanking the line sorry not 100% sure.
