Hi everyone, first post, so hello all... Hopefully someone can help me. I am part way through a 1.6 conversion in my sierra. I have hit the wiring and all was going well using the well known "warbirds guide" until i started matching up the wires from the injectors to the ECU. None of it matched his wiring colours etc and all the pins at the ECU connectors did not match and I had continuity at all the wrong places. I'm starting to think maybe the ECU and or wiring harness I sourced could be wrong. If anyone knows a way to check for sure that would be great, or if anyone in Perth knows how to wire these up, I will happily pay for the service if you are interested. Any reply is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Tom. |

Struggling to upload pictures but part number is 33920-57B4 also 100797-4920(P3) is on it. Think I may have found what the problem is. Apparently the older model Vitaras that have a G16B had a slightly different set up. Engine has 4 injectors but only 2 feed wires from the ECU that ran all 4 injectors and controlled them in pairs. Whereas generally speaking, everyone else will have 4 feed wires from the ECU to the injectors, all with a different colour. Not very much info about surrounding this but should still be possible to wire it all up. Do you think it sounds like I'm on the right track? Thanks for your reply. |

Hey rexhunta, so thanks to the info i got from you i got the car running!! yay!! Only problem is it just will not idle at all. It starts only when revs are applied but once it's running it's great, just won't idle. Then i had a play with mechanical air flow meter and when i pushed the cone in say 5mm it started and idled under it's own control. If i pushed it too far it would die and when i let go it would die. Any thoughts? Cheers, Tom. |

I’m sure there’s a million things it could be, but last time I saw this issue crop up on AZ it was the crank position sensor was not quite in the right position. How did you mod/replace the sump to fit the sensor? Could it be slightly out of position? Are you getting a check engine light or problem code? |
