Hi I have been stalking this site since I got my jim it has been great learning from you all. So I have devolved this sound its at its worse on start up in the morning and is mainly there when lidleing doesn't go away when the clutch is ingauged sorry if it's been covered before I have searched but when I think I have found the answer it turns out it's not what I'm experiencing totally any help would be appreciated Cheers http://youtu.be/Qq2Mo_5vIV4 Hope the link works |

If I have read that correctly and the sound doesn't change with clutch in or out then it is unlikely to be transmission related. Hard to pinpoint so I can only guess. Timing chain noise? do an oil flush and change with thinner oil. Check the tensioner hasn't worn out for lack of lubrication. Check all the ancillaries. Alternator, belt idler bearings, PS pump, AC pump (turn AC on and off). Maybe water pump bearings. Pull the belt off and spin each one by hand. |

Thanks for the ideas I did think it was coming from the front of the engine at first but upon further inspection tends to be down in the clutch region like a bearing or something kinda above the oil sump |
