Ok, did a search and it looks like I need
Falcon alternator from EL, the Mitsubishi none, not the Bosch. 1.3 Sierra alternator bracket Dayco 3PK0840 840mm multi V belt
Am I forgetting anything?
Also how do I attach the wires from my existing alternator set up onto the Falcon alternator?
Much appreciate any help. Cam

Thanks, So it seems I need to get the Falcon wiring too.
I'm guessing this will have the 70 amp fusable link which is needed?
But I'm still wondering about how to attach the Vitara wiring to the Falcon stuff..
Anyone done it got any pics or details?
Thanks

bogfrog wrote: connect alternator wiring up. Now as mine was orig a 1ltr engine and still has all 1Ltr wiring I had to work out what wires went where? I worked it out eventually just had to make sure she was charging and all lights on dash worked properly. Here's what I did: Delete the Black wire fold it back and tape back, then connect the white/green wire to the top pin on Alt then the white/Black one to the bottom pin then just connect charge wire and she's all done! You will have to work out this end for yourselves as my wiring colors will be different unless you have an 83' ish SJ410 as well? I dont know what the black wire is, dummy load would be my guess but its just a guess

Ah thanks mate. Last question guys... I just rang the wreckers asking for a sierra1.3 alternator bracket and he asked me which one I wanted, top or bottom.... I'm guessing it's the top one I want?

for the plug, i just used crimp terminals. been in there for 18 months and hasnt fallen out once yet. you do kinda need to put them in before putting the alternator on the bracket as its in an awkward spot but I havent had a drama with it despite it being dodgy
