I've had these Hella spot lights sitting in the shed for years and thought i might as well clean them up to use on the front of the GV with a LED light bar. Now i've cleaned them up and put on new plugs and wires on the inside bits and have tested them and they work but now i was thinking if i could make them brighter This is the globe Can ya buy more powerful globes or is there any tricks to making them brighter? Cost of these so far is zero so i don't mind spending a couple of bucks on them Cheers Joe

Look up HID conversion kits for a H3 globe on Ebay, there will be plenty around. You can get 130w globes too but that's a lot of power to be pulling vs the more efficient 55w HID set up which will provide the same, if not more light.

You don't even need to wonder. Shep posted prices here ages ago and since them the suppliers have even dropped their prices. And the big LED group buy thread has plenty of pricing in it too...

4", 42w each, 10° spread and yeah whilst prices are good for group buys, there are even better prices for bulk, at the end of the day they vary in price because they can be subsidised with other gear they sell

i'd buy direct & save just like you're doing. also this from your listing in the business directory. Quote: HID DRIVING LIGHTS 7" $150 per pair compared to this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221148530171 ... 1527wt_754$30 difference & free postage still not sure why Off Road Armoury wasn't allowed to advertise here but you're able to onsell your chinese lights?

Yeah I pay $114 for my HIDs, It's not worth it if I sell them for $120. Postage just fucks them unless you do a massive order for like 40 lights. Even still last time the lights came out at $126 per pair. They have a couple different lights though. I don't buy the shit ones that you linked me. They're only IP65 as to my IP68 ones. That's why he can sell them so cheap. But you know if you mounting them on your roof they'd be alright.

My HID's are IP67 and the LED's are IP67 as well. there all Siliconed up and have Rubber rings to seal them, so can be submerged up to a meter, The IP65's prob only just missing the rubber seal, which i recon is a easy fix.
Klutched have you opened one of your lights up?
The HIDs are the same lights that places in AU sell for $496 and up..

Yeah I've opened a couple up. And apparently the IP67/8 have better ballasts.
Which place?

VMS Lights look very similar and ive seen lights identical at around the same price or more with the RED ring. I got mine from DHgate, few sell them but mine are direct from the Manufacturer.. PM'd you, they also made the LED light bar and got them alot cheaper than can on ebay I reacon if had two of the light bars on the place of the HID's the light output would of been more than enough for what i need, so damn bright..
