What's the best way to get a tyre onto the rim, I don't want to have to pay to get it done if its simple enough

Stop being a tight arse and just pay for it. If you damage the bead while fucking around 'fitting' the tyres at home, it will be some other poor sap who dies when your tyre explodes on the highway.

Just pay for it. Takes 5min a tyre max on the machine at work or you can stuff round with lever n damage the bead and spend 30min a tyre. Then pay to have them balanced.

Yeah I suppose so, I'm sure if I bought the tyres but already had the rims they would balance for a cheaper price

I have been known to bust out the tyre leavers at 2am the morning before a trip to fit my new tyres... i fitted balance bags(in the form of 8 golf balls per wheel) I dont endorse my actions though

My neighbours crackup when I reverse the truck over the tyre to break the bead off and then cut them off with saber saw. But that's only for tyres I don't want. The tyre shop near the round a bout next to strathpine westfields charges about $10 to $12 to fit and balance and new valves per tyre but don't quote me. If you want tyre shops to do it cheaper make sure you say you will pay cash and go at times when they are least busy.
