I dont do much night driving but would like brighter lights on a budget, does the Vitara run H4 globes and can I run 90/130 Halogen without modification or other fears? Millsy |

you'll melt the plugs/loom running 90/130w globes, get one of Royce's Bright Eyes plug & play headlight loom upgrades from the business section & some good quality globes. it will make a hell of a difference. |

I doubt you'll melt anything but they won't put out their full potential due to the voltage drop |

If they aren't ADR approved they won't be legal, if you're into that kind of thing. Fit some cheap driving lights. |

I had my friend redo my headlight loom with relays and what not and wow! The original high beam was not even as bright as my new low beam. Massive difference. I'd suggest to buy Royce's loom if you don't know what your doing. It was a massive head fuck for my friend to wire it as its negative switched. He did it though. But for time and effort I'd buy a loom next time. |

I doubt you'll melt anything but they won't put out their full potential due to the voltage drop speaking from experience, i say they will melt the plugs & if used enough probably the loom too... ![]() ![]() that's the plugs in the silver princess, i ran a set of 90/130w globes for maybe 6 months just after i built it up with no loom upgrade... it wasn't until one died & i went to replace them i noticed they'd started melting the plugs. I went back to standard wattage in the Narva +50's & they didn't get any worse over the years, then recently i went the loom upgrade & it made a hell of a difference to actual light output. |

That's interesting. Must've been the corrosion causing massive current draw. Do you know what the voltage reading is at those plugs? |

that corrosion & dirt on the 2nd pic is from having it dangling loose in the engine bay after the headlight loom upgrade, i really should have taped it up with electrical tape. the first pic is the one that is used for a trigger on the loom upgrade and has no sign of corrosion. when the 90/130w globes were fitted the car nearly 6 years ago & it was still basically "brand new" eg never been off road & was spotless from top to bottom & there was no signs of corrosion when fitting the globe or when they got removed & replaced a couple times since. i'm saying both plugs have melted the same amount from the 90/130w globes & to use them at you own risk. |
