I've got all the carpet out of my 2000 GV atm, and here is a pic of the handbrake cables.

Now my kinda 3 days of beer evenings idea was this........
If you got another handbrake an set up a 2nd handbrake to pull the second cable so that you have them 'tied' together during normal driving but then off road, you have a handbrake that can lock one wheel.
THe idea i had was with an open center diff, if you poke one wheel in the air and get hung up, you pull the handbrake on the wheel in the air "locking" it then the power will go to the grounded wheel assuming that the handbrake holding power is more then the power needed to turn the wheel grounded.
Am I just drinking to much or is this kinda feasable?

The handbrake cable will not be sufficient to over come drive to the wheel.

If you want rear cutting brakes, its best to look into a hydraulic setup.

I'm sort of experimenting with this at the moment. It might not work but its worth a crack

Would it be enough of a lock up to make you corner like a boss? Or do really tight burnouts? :D

I was tempted with this idea for my disc converted sierra, but only for tighter steering offroad. Caliper has a handbrake arm, so uses the pad for brake and handbrake.

With a wheel in the air, it wont take much to stop it making the other drive thats on the ground. Opendiffs do this by themselves. Get stuck on the diff, rock car side to side, a lot of times car will drive away.

Worth a go. But how much are handbrake shoes?

If you must ......
VW Buggy hand brake / skid steer conversion.
Addition levers are attached on same pin center as original.
Cables reattached to new levers allowing left or right brake to be locked.
Lifting original lever will lift both levers as well, activating both sides.
Note tab resting on top of original lever is what original lever is lifting.
....... .good for roll overs when cornnering at speed as such not recommended

You'd be lucky to have room for that setup with all the plastic shit around the centre console. And I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be legal either....

Itd probably be easier trying electic line locks, one to each brake.
Stomp on the brakes, flick the lock for the wheel in the air and release brakes, drive away. Release lock when needed.
Essentially a manual version of ETC.
