Suzuki 4wd Club of NSW

About The Suzuki Club

The Suzuki 4 Wheel Drive Club of New South Wales is essentially a four wheel drive, camping and bush touring club. It promotes driver skill, bush craft, physical fitness, mechanical ability and all-round resourcefulness.
Like any other outdoor form of recreation, we promote an appreciation of the environment, and the responsibility for looking after it. We are always interested in meeting new people with similar interests. If you like what you see you can join on-line as a provisional member and attend your first trip, why not join up now!

About the Club

The Club was formed in 1976, not long after the first Suzuki models were introduced into Australia.

Membership

The Club is open to anyone who takes an interest in our activities. There are no age limits, and owners of all makes of 4WD vehicles are welcome to join. Many of our members are singles under 25 who have bought a Suzuki as their first vehicle. We also have lots of families with young children as members, and then there are the singles and couples from all the other age groups. Members outside of a radius of 200km of Sydney CBD can join as a corresponding member.

Meetings

Anyone interested in finding out more about the Club, as well as all members, are welcome to attend the monthly Club meetings.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at the Ermington Community Hall, River Road, Ermington, NSW. River Road runs off Victoria Road next to the Ermington shops. There is plenty of off street parking next to the hall.
We start the business part of the meeting around 8pm but the hall is open from 7.30pm

Club Activities

The main activities of the Club are 4WD trips. These vary from one-day, to weekends and even longer. Most trips are within a 4 hour radius of Sydney, while some go further afield. Other activities include social outings, motor show displays, inter-club competitions, recovery and driver training, Zukanas, and other outdoor activities. At present, we have events planned nearly every weekend

Historic Vehicles

LJ's and now the first Sierras come under the historic registration scheme in NSW. As such we have a very active historic registrar with a vast knowledge of said vehicles and the aquisition of parts to keep these vehicles on the road. Historic Registration provides low cost registration for standard vehicles (period modifications allowable) for use on club trips.

Community Service

Our Club participates actively in many community services, including cleanups, Christmas food hamper deliveries for The Smith Family, donations to charities, etc. A group from our club travelled to Victoria to assist with the bushfire recovery effort.
We also work closely with the Gandangara Local Aboriginal Land Council in Sydney's southern suburbs.

Club Magazine

Each quarter, all members receive a copy of the Club's magazine, TrackChat This contains information and updates about events and trips being organised, as well as articles and trip reports from the previous quarter's activities. Newsletters are emailed in the intervening months. Contributions from members are most welcome.

Club Shop

The Club Shop is operated at the monthly meetings and sells to club merchandise, e.g. club shirts, hats, beanies, etc. Discounts on parts and accessories are also available from our advertisers and some camping stores will also provide discounts when our club membership card is shown. Members can access the Club Shop On-line.

Conservation

The Club is actively involved with access and the planning of responsible management of the bush.
