I trimmed the excess unsupported metal from the side of the transmission skid plate. Less vibration, less chance of getting bent up onto exhaust, and more clearance to get hands in when needed, eg clearing out grass etc from round exhaust and the like AFTER: BEFORE:

Holding up to abuse so far. Though not so pretty now. Quite pleased with the off road advantages, as well as protecting crossmembers and keeping the crud out. Slides over stuff it used to hang up on.

Hey Chris, Just wondering How you attached it to your transfer case mount? looks like you put a bolt through it? Im just wondering how to do mine cos I have the newer folded metal transfer case which is weak as all S&^%. I was thinking maybe unbolts (kind of rectangle ones thought) that would sit over the mount and come either side and bolt onto the bash plate (which might have a bit of give if I really smash it......Thought it might be better than drilling throught the thin folded metal and getting the bolt ripped out!? does any one have any pics of how they have attached the bash plate that covers the transfer case to the transfer case mount? thanks!!

My transfer skid was made by B4T, I only modded that bit to suit my sump and tranmission skids.. It is 5mm plate, and I welded nuts on top to bolt transmission skid to. Tranfer skid bolts thru existing holes in crossmember, with substantial washers to stop pull through. Studs are welded into it. I assume you mean this end?

Just dropped my skid plates, to change tranny case, and was amazed at how much desert sand, grass and sticks were in them. Makes me remember why I chose to keep exhaust un skid plated, to help prevent fires.
