Straight on? No.

The rib belt pulleys and pumps mentioned above are from G series motors and won't fit directly onto an F10A. Unless you can find the set of pulleys off an F6A Turbo from a Jap SJ30 or a Cappucino (rare as Chook Fangs), you will have to fabricate/modify suitable rib belt pulleys to suit.

The F10A Alternator is also externally regulated, unlike the G13A and Falcon which are internally regulated. You will have some re-wiring to think about.

Start collecting parts. You need the swift bottom pulley and water pump pulley and an El alternator. When water pump dies DONT get the sierra one get a SWIFt water pump and fit that and the pulleys. tyhe alt will lign up perfectly and is now a multi V belt. the belt you will need is a 4v 840mm long.

Some help here... got the alt in, got the swift crank pulley on, got the swift water pump plus pulley on, but they don't line up exactly... the w/p and alt are lined up fine, but the crank pulley sit back in towards the motor the slightest few mm's and puts the belt on a angle...

can i just put some washers behind the crank pulley to bring it forward? would that be ok?

( this is on a 94 1.3 Sierra btw)

by the look of it you would only need 1 or 2 washers therefore only loosing 1 or 2 threads on the bolts. so i dont see any probs with putting washers in.

Does your Timing Belt line up? There should be a thick washer on the crank between the block and timing cogs to guide the belt. I doesn't look to be there in the pics??

In the picture the timing belt and tensioner are off, Didn't get that far after putting the pump and pulley on to check the alignment of the belt.

The timing belt was fine before I took it off to replace the pump.

I don't remember seeing a thick washer guiding the belt.. maybe thats it?

I used a Vitara bottom pulley, but instead of redrilling it to match the 4 bolt pattern of the G13BA timing cog, I also used a Vit timing cog. This will only work with a G13BA as both have a round profile on the timing belt cogs, while the G13A has square timing belt cogs

Thanks mate, I will have a closer look tomorrow and see if this mysterious washer exists. It would explain the difference. Hope thats all it is.

It looks like the washer is there at the rear of the cog to keep the timing belt on... maybe I should try putting a 3PK belt on instead for a temporary fix as i reckon i can make it align then...

Doing this mod to my Zook atm.

Coily zook with G16B motor.

Questions I have are:-

* I have a plug from the old alternator with 2 wires black/white stripe and White/red stripe. How do I know what wires go to what terminals on the alternator? See attachment for terminals.

* Will I have to bridge regulator in Coily?

* I didn't get plug with alternator is this something I should be able to buy somewhere?

Thanks guys
HR

if you look at the pic with the battery terminal facing to the sky..

the left pin is the sense wire and the right is the battery light.

use a test light to check what wire does wwhat on the car. one will ight up dull or not at all and the other will light up bright..

dull/not at all is light
bright is sense

Got it all hooked up, and tried to turn it over before I put all the radiator back in but nothing...

battery light and sense wires hooked up ok. getting battery light on when ig is on.

It turns over strongly (plenty of juice from battery) and I can smell it flood after a few seconds of turning over.

Could this be the cause of me knocking out the timing completely out when swapping over the water pump? or something else? it was running fine before playing with it.

There is a 90A Mazda Alternator that is physically identical to the Falcon 110A, but a 4 rib pulley.

Most of the various year model Magna Alternators look to have Multi-Rib pulleys??

Going to run a new cable from the alt to batt... any tips on adding a fusible link?

Been trying to find some sort of fusible link holder or inline fuse to incorporate into the cable, but can't find anything..

only found some sort of toyota ripoff battery terminal with fuse.. but $20..

Any ideas?

$20? FUck that isn't that much mate!

Try going to a wreckers and getting the alt cable/fuse holder setup from a Vitara or something similar...

Or just go to an auto leccy, and ask for a bit of fusible link...

All it really is is a bit of wire about 4 wire gauges smaller than the cable its protecting, but usually with a heat-proof insulation so it doesn't catch fire if it burns out...

grab as many as you can.. its a fairly common problem on the falcons for powersteering fluid to leak onto them.

for anyone interested i tried this using the suggested TP alternator and it bolts up, mine had a v belt pulley ao i sourced the correct pulley, however the rear of the alternator housing was hitting on my engine mount, i have since srapped this idea. my advice is make sure the alt is a definate fit up before you start screwing around with pulleys and new belts
