Well wenever using lighter gauge materials as a strengthening medium, 'boxing' or ' closing' sections adds to their rigidity.

Putting folds or bends in it also gives strength when done correctly.

And I suppose you don't have access to any dimple dies?

I wish dimple dies are so I was thinking of use the 3mm to box the long arm and strengthen the short are and getting some 6 to gusset the ring back to the arm?

Yeah tack it up and show us your handy work.

I have to say that some of the most clever and ingeneous fab ideas that I have seen have come from people who don't normally do that type of work. I guess they aren't set in their ways and can 'think outside the box'.
