Thanks mr green!
Im pretty sure the radiator mount (when using J20 one) is one of the biggest headaches unless you go to a recore sierra one or simlar.
Questions??
is your jimny steering box moved forward from stock position?
are you running the J20a or jimny PS pump??
What bearings etc did you use for the jackshaft plate/mount
What and how many wires did you connect to make it run?
nice exhaust manifold!!! LOL
steering box is off the vit the engine came from. picked up one bolt hole and drilled the other 2 ( not finished yet) with a jimny pitman arm. j20 pump is on the same side as the box so the original high pressure pipe will fit. be better if it was a bit shorter, but it will do.
no bearing on the jackshaft. just removed the transfer and put the shaft on the output of the gearbox. the manual have a bearing and seal on the back of the gearbox so the plate is just there to hang the mount off.
the wiring was a bit more involved than the g16.
i stripped the vitara and sierra harnesses, to remove all the unnecessary pollution and charge and gauge wiring from the sierra harness and made it all plug in before re taping the entire loom.
i also looked into getting a custom radiator made up. a few things to remember is that the area of the j20 is huge so a multicore is fine but the water outlets are on the opposite side to the sierra. a full custom alloy job would be the idea i suppose but the price i was given for that was " it will work out bloody dear mate". and being that i'm am a tight wad and had the j20 radiator there, it was fab time
