Thats a really bad fit.
The better ones are when the pipes are offset to each other.
So even if you hammer them, looks like the left pipe might be half crushed for clearance, then how close is they other to the chassis??
What make and number are they?

Are you able to take them back? Say they don't fit right on your jimny, ask for a different brand.

I just used a grinder to take the corner of the chassis mount off. Not running a body lift. Mine are extractors of unknown origin, maybe PJ.zook will see this and comment on what they are. Pete ran a 1 inch body lift I think and they cleared well.

So going by the posts at the start of this thread, to run the Baleno dizzy motor I need a Vitara cam and right angle drive? I assume the Baleno harness and ecu are fine with this combination. Is this the only option other than cutting the firewall up?

Dont cut the firewall mate. it will never pass for a mod plate. also the baleno dizzy sticks out heaps so it would be well and truly in the firewall. i bought a running 95 baleno to do a swap a while ago. but it is to good on fuel and couldnt be bothered to do the cam and dizzy crap so i looked around some more and i found one =) so look around if you havnt already found a motor. there could be a nice coil pack g16b just around the corner. i just found one for $350 including ECU and harness. so im just about to get my conversion build up and running. =)

Where abouts did you get your pump from and how much did it set you back and also with fuel lines where did you get the EFI lines from ??

Fuel pump and flange came out of a 2000 Baleno at a wreckers in Hobart. No idea how much it cost, it was a while ago now. Tip: snip off the pink and black wires and take the plug too.
Fuel lines were purchased at Supercheap. You don't need many, as you can use your existing steel lines.

Just wondering if the vl engine mounts would be suitable for a g16a 8v in a sierra. Have you got the part numbers for them.

YEp they will fit. They will make the motor sit abit taller. make sure you have clearance to the bonnet.
Vl mounts with the 6cyl rb30 motor.

Good info in here, CairnsZook, is your zook body lifted? Does the lift affect the fitment of those Hurricane extractors? I ask because mine isn't lifted and I will be fitting the same engine.

Yep, 25mm body lift. Lift does not affect extractor clearance. My extractors do just touch the gearbox though. (Like Ratty's pic on the previous page).

Just adding to Cairnszook's great baleno conversion thread. This is what I have done with the coolant hoses intead of making a hard line which runs over the headers which some people do. As Cairnszook has done I used the early model swift thermostat housing -> baleno top hose -> 28mm temp sensor adaptor -> ford laser top hose -> factory sierra radiator. It seems to all fit really well and clears everything. I'm running the factory sierra temp sensor in the adaptor so I don't have to mess with the factory temp guage. The other hoses are factory sierra bottom hoses to the factory sierra coolant pipe on the back of the water pump. part numbers: MACKAY radiator hoses from supercheap auto. baleno hose - CH2068 laser hose - CH2261 28mm adaptor - $15 from ebay

That works really well, one of the neater ways around the problem. Don't forget to mod and put the intake manifold brace back on.

I nearly forgot about that manifold brace, I removed it when putting the sierra engine mounts on because it wouldn't fit. I guess I'll have to modify it to make it fit?

Ate the two heater hoses that go into the baleno heater box usable on the sierra or should I just cut them off?
