I have seen his build.. and your trac bar..
nice work..
The traction bars there to eliminate axle wrap.. what the broken tailshaft?? or was there too much movement in the front shackle set up???

This thread over on Pirate shows a few design options.
Personally I like this one:
Not a perfect solution, but it should be more than ideal for what I need.
Building one out of 15NB medium pipe and some 3/4heims when I get a chance.

True It's a yankee Hack of a buggy.
However the trac bar concept used is simple enough, and effective enough for the amount of fab involved.
There are better methods, but nothing as trouble free as this one imo.

we had one on the old mans car similar to the sky engineering one. bolts to the diff center.
took out out ans it was twisting up the diff and causing bearing failures in the carrier bearings

NIK had full noise up on it's back wheels with 35s, 1600, 6.5s, 4.8, lux axles and rear locked thats how that broke

theres more clearance with this setup than if you were SPUA, and the bars are 4130 solid bar with 12mm thread on the rose joints... its pretty tough =) i've knocked them a few times and not done any damage.

Looking at that setup, it could be reworked to sit above the leaf if you reworked the "front hanger" part & U bolt plate so it had the bracket for the rose joint & a bump stop striker plate & then run shorter bumpstop on the chassis

Yeah it could work that way if you were SPUA - except the bar would have to point the other way (towards the shackle) for the slap style to work.
I've seen somewhere online a guy fitted shockies from the diff housing to the perch - thats probably the easiest way to do it providing the shock didnt self destruct under side loads.
