I after ideas for a custom water tight air box. My one is damaged so i'm wanting to replace it with something that won't leak water when submerged. Any idea's and/or photos? Or even better, if someone could make me one and ill send some $$$ your way 8)

I was just thinking of a stainless box with a lid that utilised a rubber seal and was screwed down with recessed hex bolts and rubber washers.

Some one on here a few weeks ago had a Balino airbox that was modified that from the looks of it worked fairly well.

Put it on roof racks.

My air box will be on the top of the exo after it is finished, that way it can still drain properly if the snorkel gets a bit of rain in it, or condensation forms, and I can still use OEM style filters.

I just scoured the wreckers and found this airbox. It was absolutely perfect. It was 100% steel so was easily modified, it took a standard commodore panel filter so filters are nice n cheap, it fit where i wanted it to go, perfect.
Dont know what it was out of, the car was that stripped i didnt recognise it, i think it was an old Nissan maybe, didnt really care.
The inlet was a wide oval shape which i welded a round piece of tube that fit my snorkel rubber bend, and on the other side another piece of tube that fit the old sierra intake rubber. Since I didnt reuse the Baleno intake rubber, i had to relocate the temp sender, so i used a rubber grommet in the airbox and put it there.

it might cost a bit but if ya real keen for a water tight box, you could try and get a old black-box flight recorder shell/frame thing and use that.
there water proof, floating, some come with a parashute and they are surprisingly orange in colour.

nah im just kidding around, but then again ...
