i had one under the bonnet. 50cal one is good.
i have a 30cal for a centre console and made it lockable with cupholders on top

I haven't done it yet, but I'll post the pics when I do... I have trouble with tools. At the moment I keep em in a toolbox in a space case in the back of the zook, but I'd like to free up some space so I thought about under-bonnet storage solutions. Here's what I came up with: 50 cal ammo box bolted sideways to the bracket behind the jack holder under the bonnet. It's lockable and water tight and should be secure when bolted on. I've dummied it up in there to make sure the bonnet closes and that it's not going to rub on anything it shouldn't. Seems OK so far. I'll have to relocate the jack, but I'm replacing it with a hydraulic one soon anyway because scissor jacks suck. As a stopgap measure I'll store it under one of the front seats with the wheel brace and the jack winder handle. Ammo boxes are cool. I'm working on a lockable, waterproof stereo case made from a 7.62mm ammo can and I'll be bolting two 20mm ammo cans (the big ones) into the back as soon as I decide on a workable configuration. I might even lash out and make a lockable console out of an ammo box as well. I can't weld yet, but I can angle grind and drill and pop rivet, so perhaps I'll get creative and make one that fits between the seats with a cutout for the handbrake. Anyone else use this sort of stuff in their zook? |

search for ammo box's there are a few of us who use them as center consoles, I keep one loaded with tools in the back of the zook, they are tops when ya get the urge to scavenge pinch a part  and hold a surprising amount of stuff!

I have a 7.62 can that I was thinking about putting in for tool storage. Do you guys have problems with rattles? Keep in mind I have solid engine mounts

Just line the can with a bit of rubber sheeting from clarks, probably won't be too bad. Having said that I have my toolbox and all my other tools in my work van, with only a cargo barrier seperating us, and because I've organised everything neatly, I get barely a rattle up the front, unless I hit a speed hump way too hard. |

I have an ammo box(300x150x150) ratchet strapped to the floor behind the drivers seat full of tools and a few little spares as well as a smoke grenade box(800x200x200) screwed to the floorbetween the wheelarches for my recovery gear. |

Hey guys, this is my first post ever here haha! i've got a 97 Coily tha 've slowly been doing up. that's a great idea! i've been raking my brain trying to figure out where i can put my tools n have abit of extra storage space, this is a great idea! |
