One thing I have noticed on coily is the way the bolt enters the bottom of shock is different on front and rear. The rear bolts and the eye of the shock run parrallel to the chassis, like normal. This means when flexed it can freely turn with angle of axle. This means it doesn't rely on the rubber bushing compressing like on the front axle shocks. These run with the axle or perpendicular to the chassis. When flexed, the front shock eye and bushings seem to be taking the brunt of the movement.

The question is, has anyone rotated the mounts to run parallel to the chassis like they are on the rear axle? Surely this will have to take strain of the brackets bushing shock etc

There’s so much roll stiffness in the front suspension design that I don’t believe rotating the lower mounts will make any noticeable difference. I don’t believe the lower mount is failure prone and it won’t be a problem unless substantial other modifications were made which would result in that mount being refabricated in any case.
