im lookin at making up a set of tube doors

has any1 else done this if so what sort of setbacks u have

here r some pics i shopped and modded and made suit what i wanted looking at 4.2m of tube per door(thats giving me room 4 fuck ups and half rounding the ends) prob go 4 1 3/4 or 2inch pipe

going down 2 get the pipe now so should start this up on the weekend and see how i go

I've thought about mounting my mirrors like that but have been worried about the angle of view to the passenger one.

well well got all the tube now all bent up i can put up the messurements if u guys would like once i have made them im also doing a set of rock sliders while im at it

im going 2 do 1 side first them once i have it sorted ill order the otherside and match it ill keep u all posted and i am getting mine powercoated thro work so wont cost me bugger all
also thinking of meshing it in possible see how i go

havent decided on colour yet eather black or might go this alloy colour and black mesh 2 suit my rollbar wheels and nudge bar

2 make up my doors u will need about 4m of of tube per door im using mild steel

Not sure on legalities for SA, as the coilies run side impact doofers in the doors, but I'm sure tube doors on coilies aren't legal in QLD. Just a thought... Of course if they're only for off road then totally dis-regard what I've said. I'd love some tube doors for mine for summer 8)

yeah im doing it 4 off road mainly but think i might put them on the car 4 a couple of city runs lol

i might need another length then lol, got my steel today will start bending a door up and see where i get with one length, it is only $45 a length so it will be sweet

well bent all my pipes up and now just went out and got me a pipe scolloper its a jig that holds ya pipe and u can set ya angle 2 get a nice clean scollop cut out of ya pipe and make it look pritty lol so yeah thats the latest

will get pics up soon oince i find the cable 4 the camera

well i got my scolloper works great i had a chance 2 get it all cut i have some pics of it and of my tube doors b4 i weld them

so are these bars going to be constructed using many lengths of straight steel? or just one long bit with a few bends it in?

theres about 100mm gap u could make them fit the full door up 2 u but i have made them with the gap

the notcher cost me $145 u may get it cheaper it starts at $99 on ebay makes life so easy them ya need 2 buy ya whole saw 2 suit ya pipe size which 4 2 inch cost me $28

like the standard door latch? if you do that you cant lower the door to far or it will miss?

ok but hurry up dammit, i want to do mine but am completely stuck for ideas on the latch. I have a set of standard suzy doors out the back i could pilfer the latches from, but rigging them up is another story. Oh well good luck for the rest of the build, they are looking good so far
